Mexico’s leading NASCAR driver has won titles in America and closer to home in recent years, and will now attempt to do the latter once again at Foro Sol.
Suarez started out in Mexico’s regional stock car series before making the natural progression to the sport’s home north of the border. Finishing fifth in NASCAR’s second tier in 2015 marked him out as a contender, and 12 months later he was duly crowned NASCAR Xfinity Series champion with Joe Gibbs Racing.
That led to a move into the senior Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. Suarez finished 21st overall in 2018 but also finished second in the annual All-Star race.
