Timo Glock has enjoyed a busy and successful racing career on both sides of the Atlantic, recently establishing himself as a fixture on the Formula 1 grid.
The German driver became one of few drivers to score points on his F1 debut as he took 7th place for Jordan in Canada in 2004. But he was unable to secure a seat for the following season so he swapped to the Champ Car series, earning the Rookie of the Year title.
In 2006 Glock returned to Europe to begin a successful stint in the GP2 series, duly winning the championship the next year. His stint as a BMW F1 test driver helped him on an inevitable path back to racing’s highest echelon with the Toyota team. He took his first F1 podium at Hungary in 2008, adding two more the following year.
Points and podiums have been all but inaccessible for Glock since his switch to the fledgling Marussia Virgin Racing Team. But he will now aim to show he can still mix it at the front at the 2011 ROC Nations Cup.
